Inventata nel 2007 da Chris Brown, un impiegato di un negozio indipendente di dischi negli Stati Uniti, la giornata, che si svolge annualmente ogni terzo sabato di aprile, celebra gli oltre 700 negozi di dischi indipendenti negli Usa e le centinaia di migliaia di negozi musicali indipendenti in tutto il mondo.

Record Store Day is an annual event, founded in 2007, by Chris Brown, an employee of an independent record store in the USA, held on the third Saturday of April each year to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store. The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world.
